JOB DESCRIPTION

GeoPacific Consultants Ltd. is a geotechnical engineering firm located in Vancouver, BC. Incorporated in December of 1985, we have completed over 17,000 projects in the Metro Vancouver and surrounding area. Our aim is to provide a range of specialized geotechnical engineering solutions delivered on time and on budget. We are committed to quality, responsive, and innovative service appropriate to the varied requirements of our clients. We are currently seeking to add an Intermediate Geotechnical Engineer in Training (EIT) to our team for a full-time position in our Kamloops Office.

The job will entail density testing, site investigations, construction reviews and inspections, data management, writing and editing formal reports, letters, and memos as well as managing our Kamloops office. As an intermediate engineer the successful applicant will work closely with the professional engineering staff in Vancouver to develop their skills as an engineer in design and analysis, and progress towards working independently and managing projects.

It is expected that the successful applicant will meet the following qualifications:

· A Degree in geological or civil engineering is preferred

· Excellent communication skills - both written and oral

· A solid understanding of soil mechanics and soil classification

· Fundamental knowledge of Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and AutoCAD

· A valid Canadian driver’s license and own their own vehicle

· Enrollment or eligibility to enroll with EGBC as an Engineer-In-Training is preferred

· More than 3 years of relevant experience in geotechnical engineering and materials testing
