EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL SPECIALIST

JOB DESCRIPTION

GeoPacific Consultants Ltd. is a Geotechnical engineering firm located in Vancouver, BC. Incorporated in 1985, we have completed over 17,000 projects in the Metro Vancouver area. In that time, we have gained extensive experience throughout the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley. Our aim is to provide a range of specialized geotechnical engineering solutions delivered on time and on budget. Our Erosion and Sediment Control (ESC) department is dedicated to ensuring that our projects are sustainably managed, minimizing the impacts of construction on the environment through efficient earthworks and compliance with municipal standards.

We are currently seeking to fill a full-time position in our Erosion and Sediment Control department. The job will entail performing in-field inspections of active construction sites, testing water quality onsite, preparing reports in Microsoft Word and Excel, and maintaining a clean and safe working environment. The position will include working closely with the Company's engineering staff and management group. It will provide the successful candidate with an introduction to the Geotechnical Consulting business, design and implementation of Erosion & Sediment Control Best Management Practices both in-field and in-office, and the opportunity to develop their consultant-client and consultant-contractor relations skills.

The successful applicant will possess the following attributes:

· Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably with a scientific background

· Valid Driver’s License with personal vehicle is required

· Valid BC Certified Erosion & Sediment Control Lead certification is preferred (must provide valid certificate of BC – CESCL Course completion)

· Experience conducting field inspections under a variety of climate conditions

· Experience collecting and analyzing water quality samples

· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

· Familiar and skilled with the Microsoft Office suite of programs, including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

· Strong organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills

· Ability to liaise effectively with clients, contractors and municipal authorities

· Keen observational eye for field details as well as strong attention to administrative details
